Retirement Plan Administrator II

 

FranFund, Inc. is a growing financial services company, and we’re searching for an experienced Retirement Plan Administrator. This role is a mid-level position within the Third-Party Administration Department. Each Associate works directly with a Senior Administrator to learn aspects of retirement plan administration, compliance, and accounting.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Maintain client accounts – (400-700)
  • Ensure client database is updated
  • Advanced client communication and inquiries (corrections, control group, RMD, compliance testing)
  • Consult regarding Employee and Employer contributions
  • Exit strategy/ Closing a Plan
  • Additional Investments
  • Educate employer about responsibility to the 401(k) and employees (i.e., enrolling)
  • Accounting/CPA questions related to ROBS
  • Documents all plan transactions during the year (loans, distributions, rollovers, contributions)
  • Prepares all required and optional plan amendments and restatements
  • The annual review process for all client accounts includes requesting and reviewing all data and inquiring about changes or potential issues from data provided
  • Prepare plan financials and 5500 with all schedules
  • Compliance Testing
  • Determine eligible employees based on census and plan document eligibility parameters
  • Prepare and send work product
  • Invite clients to sign 5500 and follow up as needed
  • Other Projects as Needed
  • Organize client files on the server as needed
  • Train Plan Administrator I as needed
  • Refer preferred partnerships if appropriate
  • Communicate additional billing for services outside of what is included in the annual fee (corrections, extensions, etc.)
  • Assist FranPlan Specialist with questions regarding plan operation or design

Knowledge & Skills

  • High school diploma
  • Advanced Typing and Data Entry skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with intermediate to advanced skills in Excel
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills
  • Work well in a high-volume production environment
  • Demonstrate critical thinking abilities and exercise judgment when needed
  • Excellent customer service skills with high attention to detail
  • Prioritize workload based on department requirements and customer needs
  • Ability to multi-task in other areas of the unit
  • Positive attitude and team-oriented
  • CRM experience (preferably Salesforce)
  • Willingness to work extended hours to meet pre-determined goals and deadlines
  • 3+ years financial industry experience
  • Retirement Plan industry experience
  • ASPPA / QKA credentials are a plus
