Celebs who Franchise

When your kid said they wanted to be like Shaquille O'Neal or Drew Brees when they grew up, we can almost guarantee they didn't mean future franchise owners! It’s not uncommon for celebrities to own franchises but did you know that some of your favorite celebrities are successful owners of some fantastic franchises?

Shaquille O’Neal

When it comes to owning a franchise, Shaquille O’Neal is no stranger. With over 155 Five Guys Burgers and Fries, 17 Auntie Anne’s Pretzels, 40 24-Hour Fitness Clubs, 9 Papa John’s, 150 car washes and more, Shaquille knows the success that franchising can bring. Valued over $400 million, O’Neal recognizes that the franchising model is simple and if you believe in the business, you will have great success.

Drew Brees

The former Saints Quarterback began franchising after his 20-season career in the NFL. Brees has been a long-time multi-unit franchisee in Dunkin’, and Jimmy John’s. Recently, Brees has decided to align his football career with his franchise brands, investing in fitness and wellness industries: with new investments in Stretch Zone and Everbowl.

Mark Wahlberg

Being one of the highest paid actors in Hollywood didn’t stop Mark Wahlberg from making millions from franchising. Wahlberg began his career in franchising as an investor in F45, an Australian high-intensity gym and later becoming a franchisor as the brand grew. In 2011, Wahlburger, a casual burger franchise, was opened by Wahlberg and his brothers. The brand grew to a large scale and liking among its customers, Wahlburger’s was created as T.V. show based on the burger restaurant.

Every franchise story is unique, even among celebrities. Just like these celebrities and many more, franchising is an opportunity to become a successful business owner with successful brands. If celebrities can do it, so can you!
